A New Vision for Summer School

January 17, 2016

A collaboration between school districts and national partners, A New Vision for Summer School (NVSS) represents a commitment to expanding and improving summer learning programs.

Started in 2009, NVSS works to close the achievement gap by developing innovative summer learning programs, sharing lessons learned, and advocating for summer learning.

Thirty school districts currently participate in NVSS and the topic of summer learning has grown in prominence in recent years with the First Lady, Michelle Obama, including summer learning as a core component of her Reach Higher initiative.
